They came through the rift

Shattered Rift now opens over the Cradle, your broken home world. A few short lines set the scene: something came through the rift and drank the light from your sun, and the only way to answer is to follow it back through.

The screenshot shows the first of those lines over the Cradle, with your damaged ship descending toward the surface to scavenge what it can.
