Astrolabe Crab

A brass crab built by the astronomers to carry their instruments, its shell a set of nested rings and a great lens mounted on its back. Without light the lens is useless and it stalls.

How it fights

Its lens turns and a pale arc lights the floor around it, showing which way it will turn; then the lens fires a beam that sweeps round it like a lighthouse.
