Brine Heron

A tall salt-crusted heron that stalks the flats on stilt legs, feathers caked white with brine and a beak like a long yellow spear. Fresh water dissolves its salt armour.
How it fights
It draws its neck back into an S and a long thin line marks the ground to you; then the beak strikes down that line in an instant, spraying salt.
