Deepdelve
SpoilerThis page covers the lands past Wickmoor. Show it
Town of The Bonelands.
The Bone Warden's dead dig beside the living: a mining town of basalt and plank walls with sod and bone roofs, a mine cart on its rails, bone piles, dust in the lamplight; Foreman Gat under his helmet lamp.
The town torch
Every town has a torch on its plaza. Light it with the staff and it becomes Wick's checkpoint: a fall ends here, resting at the lit torch heals, and a lit torch is also a stop for lantern travel. Resting heals Wick, but it wakes the land's creatures again.
People
- Merrit the innkeeper: Serves grit for supper and good sense with it; tells Pip not to wave at the dead.
- Dabb the salt seller: Sells salt, grit and salt again, scraped off the flats.
- Old Wenna: A miner's widow who keeps count of the dead that walk by.
- Foreman Gat: Deepdelve, Bonelands (earth). Lost his son to the Warden's digging; wipes his brow under the helmet lamp.
