Gloamhollow
SpoilerThis page covers the lands past Wickmoor. Show it
Town of The Gloaming.
A town under an eclipse that never passes: tall crooked houses with steep black-slate roofs, every window crowded with candles, violet ward posts on every corner, a watch bell rung when the shadows move, chalk circles on the cobbles and pale moths.
The town torch
Every town has a torch on its plaza. Light it with the staff and it becomes Wick's checkpoint: a fall ends here, resting at the lit torch heals, and a lit torch is also a stop for lantern travel. Resting heals Wick, but it wakes the land's creatures again.
People
- The Gloam Mother: A blind seer the town is half afraid of; she reads the shadows. Gives a clue quest.
- Wat, keeper of the Lamplit Inn: Keeps every lamp in his inn burning; never lets a room go dark.
- Hesper the ward-seller: Sells wards, charms and chalk against the dark; believes in every one of them.
- Corwin the lamplighter: Walks the streets lighting the ward lamps; a local who knows where the dark is thickest.
