Pieces of heart
The Gloaming has 2 challenges out in the open that pay out a piece of heart (ambushes to survive, lamp runs against the clock, buried hearts). More pieces wait in its dungeons, hidden chambers and quests.
Notes and inscriptions
The Watchers' Map (The Moth Room)
Pinned to the wall of the moth room, a watchman's map of the Gloaming with every safe path inked in pale blue, and a note: if the lamps go out, follow the moths.
The Watch Roll (The Watch-wall Gate)
Through the gate, the watchmen's room: cots, a cold stove, and the watch roll on the table, every night signed off with the same two words: all quiet.
A Moth-catcher’s Jar
Empty, with the lid off. Scratched on the glass: I let them go. They were only going home.
The Watchman's Log (The Old Watch House)
Light finds a log-book in the dust. The last watchman's last line: Quiet night. Lamps all burning. Going home.
The Old Moon (The Moonwell)
The well's face freezes still and for a moment it holds the moon as it was a long time ago, whole and bright, with no cloud near it.
The Pool That Remembers (The Dusk Moor)
Water fills the dry pool and for a breath it shows the moor by day, green and bright, with a road running east that is not there now.
The Moth Circle (The Glow-worm Hollows)
Pale stones in a ring where the moths dance, one darker than the rest. Under it, a child's drawing of the moths, and a promise to come back and count them again.
A letter, never sent (Gloamhollow)
They fear me, so they stay inside, so they stay alive. The world out there eats people. I only ate their daylight. A fair trade, if you had seen what I have seen. - R.
A Seat by the Road (Moonroot Forest)
A stone seat under the dusk trees. The moths drift on toward the Rift Scar, and the evening never quite ends.
Hidden things
Some spots answer to the right element. Cast it there and something comes back.

- The Moonwell (Frost): The well's face freezes still and for a moment it holds the moon as it was a long time ago, whole and bright, with no cloud near it.
- The Dusk Moor (Water): Water fills the dry pool and for a breath it shows the moor by day, green and bright, with a road running east that is not there now.
- The Glow-worm Hollows (Force): Pale stones in a ring where the moths dance, one darker than the rest. Under it, a child's drawing of the moths, and a promise to come back and count them again.
