Kilnhold
SpoilerThis page covers the lands past Wickmoor. Show it
Town of Ember Reach.
Forced to feed the Ashen Magister's forge with their own homes: adobe and brick with clay-tile roofs half stripped to the rafters, ash falling, embers glowing in the cracks; Brannoch hammers at his forge.
The town torch
Every town has a torch on its plaza. Light it with the staff and it becomes Wick's checkpoint: a fall ends here, resting at the lit torch heals, and a lit torch is also a stop for lantern travel. Resting heals Wick, but it wakes the land's creatures again.
People
- Haska the innkeeper: Keeps the inn while it still has a roof; the Magister takes a brick a week.
- Ama the baker: Bakes bread on the slag; the best crust in the kingdom.
- Old Tib: An old kiln hand with burn-scarred arms, too stiff now for the bellows.
- Brannoch the smith: Kilnhold, Ember Reach (fire). Forges for the Ashen Magister to keep his family alive.
