A great dark vault beetle that has grown a carved stone lintel into its back, the barrow-runes on it glowing faintly. It lives in the dark under the downs; bright light makes it clamp down and freeze.
How it fights
The lintel lifts off its back on bent air and hangs glowing pale underneath; a square shadow settles over where you stand and darkens; then the slab drops on that square with a crash, and floats home again.
Where to find it
Like every creature, it leaves an aura when it falls. Absorb it to refill your magic.
