The Stormcoast

Pieces of heart
The Stormcoast has 1 challenge out in the open that pay out a piece of heart (ambushes to survive, lamp runs against the clock, buried hearts). More pieces wait in its dungeons, hidden chambers and quests.
Notes and inscriptions
The Gear-man's Log (Stormbreak Cliffs)
In a brass tube: the trains ran on the hour every hour for sixty years, and the one time they did not, the whole coast came out to look.
A Storm Warning (The Great Dial)
Painted on a board: when the gulls go quiet, get under stone. When they come back, it is safe, whatever the sky says.
The Lens-grinder's Note (The Clockwork Ruin)
Folded small: the lighthouse lens was ground from glass carried down from the Heights. The star-folk knew what it was for.
The Gear-man's Log (The Shingle)
In a brass tube: the trains ran on the hour every hour for sixty years, and the one time they did not, the whole coast came out to look.
A Storm Warning (The Shingle)
Painted on a board: when the gulls go quiet, get under stone. When they come back, it is safe, whatever the sky says.
The Old Signal Tower
The first signal tower on the coast, older than the gear-men. Its lamp is long gone, but the keepers' code is cut into the doorframe: one flash, all well; two, a storm coming; three, come and help.
The Signal-keepers' Cave
A dry cave above the tide where the signal-keepers waited out the storms. Their lamp-oil is long gone, but the log is still here: every ship seen, every light shown, and how many came home.
A Lightning-Rod Drawing (The Shingle)
A rolled drawing signed 'Gearhaven, Third Workshop': a copper rod, a kite and a very long string. A note in another hand says: 'Tried it. Hair still standing.'
A Gull-Keeper's Whistle (Stormbreak Cliffs)
A carved bone whistle that makes no sound you can hear. Every gull on the cliff turns to look at you anyway.
The Rod That Clicks (The Eyrie Cliff)
The dead lightning rod hums, then clicks out a signal, long and short, over and over. The gear-men used to call the trains home that way.
The Signal Plate (Stormbreak Cliffs)
The wind tears the sea fog off an iron signal plate bolted to the cliff. Every train line on the coast is cut into it, and one, never built, runs out over the water toward the Tidelands.
The Pebble Calendar (The Shingle)
A ring of pebbles on the shingle, one for each month, and one a different colour. Under it, wrapped in tarred cloth: a fisher's note of when the shoals ran, year on year.
A Seat by the Road (Stormbreak Cliffs)
A storm bench with its back to the wind. Out past the rocks the sea heaves on toward the Gantry, and the gulls hang still in the air.
Hidden things
Some spots answer to the right element. Cast it there and something comes back.
