A hedgehog the size of a sheepdog, its back a thicket of long pale quills with leaves and moss caught in them. Fire crisps the quills and it uncurls in a panic.
How it fights
It tucks into a bristling ball while short spokes mark the ground all round it; then it fires its quills out in every direction at once.
