Tome Mimic

A heavy old spellbook that flapped off the shelf: its cover snaps like a jaw, a bookmark-ribbon tongue, pages full of restless ink. Water makes the ink run and the pages glue shut.

How it fights

It flips open and its pages tear free and orbit it in a widening ring of paper; then the ring stops and every page shoots straight outward, edge first.
