Verdigris Beetle

A stocky beetle that carries a stack of green-crusted copper plates on its back, pried off the old forge conductors. Its antennae are coiled wire that never stops crackling. More lightning than it can hold overloads it.
How it fights
As it walks it pays out a thin copper wire from the plates on its back, zig-zagging it across the floor - and it likes to cut straight across where you stand. Its antennae crackle and the wire hums; then a spark leaps from its body and races out along the whole wire to the end. Step over the wire anywhere the spark is not.
